One of our favorite adobo pictures for Unilever finally came out in the latest issue of Yummy magazine! It’s a little sad, though, that we weren’t able to shoot the rest of the (Knorr) food for this issue. The shoot was cancelled at the last minute, and was moved to another day when we had scheduled a shoot for another client. Ah well. We’re shooting again tomorrow for the next issue! Hopefully it pushes through, as it’s been rescheduled a couple of times already! No worries though. (:

Wow, this post is long overdue! We’ve been so swamped with meetings and shoots these past months that posting these photos completely escaped our minds.
Anyway, we did a shoot late last year, around November, for a restaurant in the city of Manila called L’eau Vive in Asia. This restaurant has been open for a very long time, and is run by nuns from different parts of the globe! L’eau Vive serves up fantastic French cuisine, and we had the great opportunity to sample the dishes we shot!

Gambas Marinés au Gingembre et à L’Orange
Prawns marinated in ginger & fresh orange juice

Salad Nicoise

Cocktail de Crevettes au Mangue
Lettuce, mango, shrimps & cocktail sauce

Saumon a la Crème di Ciboulette
Salmon in chives and olive oil

Canard à L’orange
Duck meat with orange sauce

Mousse de Foie de Volaille
Homemade chicken liver pate

Profiteroles au Chocolat
Puff pastry, vanilla ice cream, and hot chocolate sauce
We shot everything during late morning, and we were just given some plates and utensils after. We had so many dishes in front of us for lunch!
The servings are very generous — so generous, in fact, that we couldn’t finish everything! We of course sampled everything, and they were all delicious.
The nuns who accommodated us were very friendly and so amazingly kind. They were even offering to cook up more in case we wanted anything else, but since there were only two of us during this shoot, it was highly unlikely for us to ask for seconds. That, plus the fact that we didn’t want them to work longer, given that they were supposed to be closed for the day.
Now that we think about it, there aren’t many French restaurants in Metro Manila, so if you’re itching to sample some authentic French cuisine, do pay this quaint little resto a visit! We promise that it’ll be worth every centavo. :)
Yesterday, we bought some new equipment! Since we had some downtime again during our shoot today, we decided to try out our new toy. Hello from the Tender Blender team!
